The Next Wave

Elsa BloodstoneWarren Ellis has to be my current favorite comic writer; he’s just so versatile. I’ve known for a while that he has a talent at writing humor (mostly in the black variety) but I can’t remember laughing this hard in a long while. NextWave was definitely a pleasant surprise this week. My second favorite of the pulls this week was the current issue of New Avengers, which gave me a smile when I noticed that the thought balloons of Ms. Marvel were pieces of multiple posts on her weblog.
“NextWave is a super hero comic about five people who have just minutes to prevent a town from being eaten by a giant lizard monster in purple underpants.”

Poker Faces

Poker HandPlayed some poker (Texas Hold ‘Em) last night with the roommates and a couple of their friends and I’ve realized maybe I’ve been too lenient with them. It seems that they think they can walk all over me, though perhaps it could have just been the beer talking. Regardless, I’m tired of playing nice and I feel if I get any more shit from those bastards they’re going to get punched. Problem (for them) is I don’t pull punches.

Return of the Loner

Bruce Wayne
I feel like I don't know what I'm doing anymore, now that school has ended. It seems like I'm making no headway whatsoever with the job market. It's rather frustrating but I need to keep on going at it. Dr. Endicott and Angie have been taking their time with putting together that letter of recommendation. Maybe it'll help, or maybe it's a false hope. I really should check up on the status of that letter today. I also need to try and get a plane ticket home sometime today too. So many things I need to do, but all I feel is lethargic and defeated, so alone. I've handled being a loner once, it shouldn't be too hard to do again.
